Ampati, May 29: A Tuberculosis (TB) and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Screening Campaign was conducted at the Betasing Block Office on Friday with the objective of promoting early detection, timely treatment, and awareness on major health issues affecting the community.
The screening programme was organised by the Health Department in collaboration with the Betasing C&RD Block administration as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen preventive healthcare services and improve public health outcomes in rural areas.
During the campaign, officials and staff of the Block Office, along with members of the public, underwent screening for Tuberculosis and common Non-Communicable Diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and other lifestyle-related illnesses. Health personnel conducted basic health assessments including blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, symptom screening, and counselling sessions.
Medical officials highlighted the importance of regular health check-ups and early diagnosis in preventing serious complications arising from TB and NCDs. Awareness was also created on maintaining healthy lifestyle practices, proper nutrition, physical activity, and adherence to treatment for those diagnosed with chronic conditions.
Health workers further informed participants about the availability of free diagnostic and treatment facilities under various government health programmes. Emphasis was laid on community participation and collective responsibility in achieving TB elimination targets and reducing the burden of non-communicable diseases in the district.
The programme witnessed active participation from government employees, frontline workers, and local residents, reflecting growing awareness on preventive healthcare and the importance of timely medical intervention.
