Dadenggre, May 1, 2026: Familiarization Exercise ( FAMEX) was held at Selsella Higher Secondary School today as part of the disaster preparedness program conducted by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) (1st Battalion), Guwahati in collaboration with District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Tura.

The NDRF Team was led by Mehta Kumar, Inspector, NDRF, Guwahati and other Officials.

It may be mentioned that the Exercise focuses on training communities, school students and local volunteers in life saving skills to enhance resilience against natural disasters.

Selsella being flood prone area, hands on training for flood survival, techniques and structural safety during emergencies were imparted during the program.

The NDRF Guwahati looks after the states of Assam, Meghalaya and Mizoram.
