Tura, Oct 7, 2026:: Tura MDC and BJP State Vice President Bernard N Marak has sought Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong’s intervention over the failure to conduct the People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) in Garo Hills on October 2 and the delay in convening a mandatory tripartite agreement meeting.

The BJP MDC said that there is no Gram Sabha was held in GHADC areas and blocks on the scheduled date, that elected members were not informed, and that no proceedings were uploaded to the PPC portal.

The campaign, mandated by the Centre, aims to strengthen grassroots participation in development planning by recording public views and incorporating local proposals into projects under the Panchayati Raj framework. Bernard said its non-implementation had denied residents an opportunity to participate in the planning process.

He urged Tynsong, who handles District Council Affairs, to direct GHADC and block authorities to conduct the campaign transparently, with full public participation and proper communication with stakeholders.

The last meeting was held on September 26, 2025, and no subsequent meeting has been convened, according to the repre-sentation.
He called for the overdue meeting to be held in Tura without delay, warning that he would pursue legal remedies if the government failed to ensure compliance. Follow Politics
