The College of Teacher Education (CTE), Rongkhon, Tura, hosted a grand Felicitation and Graduation Ceremony on Monday the 20th October, 2025 afternoon at the college auditorium to honour five batches of alumni (2019–2025) and the outgoing students of the current academic session. The event celebrated the achievements of graduating teacher trainees and recognized the contributions of past pupils who continue to uphold the institution’s legacy of excellence in teacher education.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by past pupils from various districts of Meghalaya, reflecting the widespread reach and impact of CTE Rongkhon across the state. The gathering served as a joyful reunion and an occasion to acknowledge the continuing achievements of its alumni in the field of education and community service.
The ceremony began with the National Anthem, followed by a Bible Reading and Prayer led by Dr. Monish Ch. Marak. A warm Welcome Address was delivered by Madam Dr. Silse D. Marak, CTE IQAC Co-ordinator, who extended heartfelt greetings to the dignitaries, faculty members, alumni, and students.
The Chief Guest, Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Thomas A. Sangma, graced the occasion and delivered an inspiring address. In his speech, Thomas A. Sangma stated that the programme was not only an acknowledgment of academic excellence but also a celebration of perseverance, growth, and personal transformation. He lauded the students for their dedication and commitment during their years at CTE, noting that their journey had been marked by meaningful learning, exploration, and service through classroom engagements, practice teaching, and community outreach. He urged the graduates to carry forward the spirit of humility, service, and excellence as they embark on their journey as future educators and change makers.
Distinguished guests included Dr. Fr. Pius Varghese, SDB, Principal of Don Bosco College of Teacher Education, Tura, and Dr. Meena A. Sangma, Principal of CTE, Rongkhon. Both congratulated the graduates and alumni for their achievements and encouraged them to uphold professional integrity and contribute meaningfully to the field of education.
A major highlight of the event was the felicitation of alumni from five batches 2019–2025, along with the graduation ceremony for the outgoing students, during which both present and past pupils received their provisional certificates and mementos. The programme also witnessed the release of the CTE College Magazine 2025, showcasing the creative, academic, and co-curricular achievements of the institution.
The celebration featured colourful song and dance presentations by students and alumni, adding vibrancy and a festive spirit to the occasion.
In her Vote of Thanks, Principal Dr. Meena A. Sangma expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, invited guests, faculty, staff, and students for their contributions in making the event a success.
