Ampati, October 24, 2025: As part of Nation-wide pre-event campaign for PM Event on 5 years of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), the coordinated departments of South West Garo Hills – Social Welfare, District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), and Sports – in collaboration with the District Administration, organized an Inter-Departmental Volleyball Tournament at Ampati Mini Stadium on Friday.

In the final match, Social Welfare team defeated Medical team 25 – 20 and emerged winners of the tournament.

Dolrich B.G.Momin, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ampati, handed over the trophy to the winners team in the presence of Z.R.Marak, District Social Welfare Officer and G. Ch. Marak, Treasury Officer of Ampati District Treasury and other officials.

The tournament aims to spread awareness about substance abuse and drug menace among people and community.

Various activities are being conducted across district to commemorate the 5th anniversary of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan which will culminate in a high-level event to be graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi in November, 2025.
