Resubelpara, December 4, 2025: The A∙we Festival 2025, a two-day celebration of athleticism, indigenous culture and community spirit is set to take place from December 9 –10 2025, at Mini Stadium Resubelpara in North Garo Hills. Organised by the District Administration North Garo Hills, the festival promises an exciting line-up of sports events, traditional games and cultural exhibitions that will bring together athletes, artists, and visitors from across the region.
The Minister of Tourism, Agriculture & Fisheries, Government of Meghalaya, Timothy D Shira has consented to grace the Festival as the Chief Guest.
This year’s festival will feature a series of thrilling competitions including traditional Indigenous Games, Men’s Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Inter Locality Tug of War and Arm Wrestling. With generous cash prizes and an unmatched sense of community, the A∙we Festival 2025 is poised to be a memorable event for both participants and spectators.
Key Highlights of A∙we Festival 2025: Masterchef North Garo Hills (Traditional Garo Dishes only), Indigenous Games including the traditional Wa∙pong sika and An∙ding oka, Rong∙ma Chilsusaa, Re∙ba sala, Makkre Wa∙jol Mala (endurance challenge for men & women), will showcase the athleticism and strategic skills of local players. Cultural events such as Miss A∙we Beauty Contest, A∙we Dance Battle, The Voice of A∙we and live music performance by bands from Shillong’s own Jessie Lyngdoh to Tura’s Nokpante, North Wind and the Ahowee.
In addition to the sports events, visitors will have the opportunity to explore a vibrant exhibition of local culture, crafts and products. Departmental stalls will showcase the region’s diverse offerings including traditional arts, handmade crafts and locally produced goods. This exhibition serves as a platform for local businesses, artisans and government departments to engage with the community and visitors.
