Ampati, May 23, 2026: A district-level meeting and launch programme for the nationwide IEC Campaign titled “Jan Bhagidaari-Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle” was held on Friday at the DRDA Conference Hall, Ampati.

The programme was organised by the State Rural Employment Society (SRES), South West Garo Hills, under the Community & Rural Development Department, Government of Meghalaya, as part of the nationwide campaign being conducted from May 18 to May 25, 2026.

The campaign aimed at creating awareness on various welfare schemes for tribal communities and strengthening community participation, public awareness, and convergence of developmental activities in DA-JGUA villages across the district.

Beneficiary Saturation Camps were also scheduled to be conducted in all identified villages during the campaign period.

The meeting was chaired by Shri R.Z.D. Shira, MCS, Project Director and Additional District Programme Coordinator, SRES-DIS, South West Garo Hills. Representatives from various line departments including Health, Agriculture, Horticulture, Education, ICDS, MBDA, NRLM, PWD, PHE, Fisheries, Labour, Skill Development, and other allied departments attended the programme.

During the meeting, departmental officials discussed coordinated strategies for effective implementation of welfare schemes and outreach activities in remote tribal villages.

Emphasis was laid on ensuring maximum coverage of eligible beneficiaries through awareness drives, convergence activities, and saturation camps.
Officials also reiterated the importance of inter-departmental coordination and active community participation to ensure successful implementation of government welfare initiatives in the district.
