Tura, April, 29, 2025: The Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Government of India Jual Oram reviewed the status and implementation of centrally sponsored schemes sanctioned under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs at Circuit House, Tura on 29th April, 2025.

During the review meeting, the Minister conducted a comprehensive review with Heads of line departments in West Garo Hills district and emphasized on strengthening the service delivery mechanism at the grassroot level. Implementation of schemes such as construction of road from Tikrikilla to Udalguri (1.2 Km) under Dadenggre Sub-Division, projects under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana- Watershed Development Component (PMKSY- WDC 2.0) under the department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India were among the schemes reviewed during the meeting.

He further said that these reviews are necessary in order to understand the physical progress of these projects implemented and also urged the officials to prepare projects for various schemes required in the region and submit it to the Ministry for approval.

West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Vibhor Agarwal, Project Director, DRDA and Additional Deputy Commissioner Jude R T Sangma, Heads of Line Departments of West Garo Hills District were among others present during the meeting.

The Union Minister also visited the Honey Processing Centre, Chandigre under Rongram C & RD Block which is being managed by the Nokrek Area Bee Keeping Cooperative Society Ltd under the guidance of District Commerce and Industries Centre, Tura yesterday.
