Tura, April 11, 2025: The three days training for teachers of Garo Hills region concluded today with distribution of Certificate of Participation to the teachers during the valedictory function held at Pechon Memorial School, Tura. It may be mentioned that the training for teachers was conducted on Building Young Leaders by empowering adolescent Boys and Girls with Transformation life skills organized by Meghalaya Institute of Governance (MIG), Shillong.
During these three days training programme, the Resource person and State Coordinator, MIG, Meghalaya Shillong J H Warbah explained in detail with regard to various subjects namely confidence and self-esteem, communication, conflict resolution, decision making, time management, financial planning, inter-gender dialogue, menstruation- basics and myth blasting, sexual and reproductive health rights, HIV and AIDS risk behaviours among adolescents, counseling, among others for the benefit of the teachers and towards the welfare of the students in future.
Speaking on the occasion, LSEO (Lady School Education Organiser), Joint Director School Education and Literacy, Tura Tengme M Marak expressed her gratitude to the Director, MIG, Aiban Swer and State Coordinator, MIG J H Warbah for organizing this training programme and equip the teachers with necessary skills to transform the adolescent youth of the region. She also urged the teachers to apply these skills in their teaching method and also to adapt and update themselves at par with the modern technology and work towards building a responsible and resilient society in future.
