Baghmara, Mar 12,2025: South Garo Hills Social Activist, Greneth M. Sangma today has written complaint against the contractor to the Superintendent of Police (SP), South Garo Hills, Baghmara for his strong dissatisfaction and frustration regarding the incomplete construction of Market Shed at Sibbari, in South Garo Hills.

Despite complaint has been lodged to the Project Director, DRDA Baghmara by Wilban N. Sangma General Secretary of ACHIK Southern Zone, on 18 July, 2024, but the contractor has failed to complete the Project, till date, said Sangma.

The Scheme, sanctioned under the NEC, through DRDA, was intended to benefit the local community, but the contractor’s inaction has caused undue hardship and inconvenience to the people of Sibbari. ” I strongly demand that a thorough investigation to be conducted to determine the cause of delay and to identify any potential misappropriation of public funds, added Sangma.

Furthermore, he urged the SP to take stern legal action against the contractor for cheating of public and potential misused of public funds. It is imperative that responsible for this gross negligence be held accountable for their actions, he added.
