Williamnagar, May 30, 2025: Meghalaya minister for Soil and Water Conservation, PHE, Housing, etc. Marcuise N Marak launched the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan in East Garo Hills in a function at Samanda C&RD Block in the presence of Deputy Commissioner, RP Marak, Dr. SM Hussain, Senior Scientist and the Head of KVK and other dignitaries on 29 May.

Highlighting the importance and significance of Viksit Kishi Sankalp Abhiyan, Marcuise informed that India has now become the fourth largest economy in the world due to ceaseless efforts of the Govt. of India under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

The key-note address during the launching of the program was delivered by Dr. Trudy Tengse A Sangma, Scientist (Horticulture), KVK while the welcome address was delivered by Dr. SM Hussain, Head of KVK, East Garo Hills.
Others who spoke on the day included the Deputy Commissioner, RP Marak, Dean, College of Community Science, CAU, District Agriculture Officer, District Horticulture Officer and District Veterinary Officer.

On the day, seed-kits and leaflets also were distributed to the beneficiaries.
Dr. S Nirupama Chanu, Scientist (Agriculture Engineering), proposed the vote of thanks.
