Williamnagar Nov.18, 2024: The President of ‘Garo Hills Youth Solidarity’ (GHYS), Endick Marak had condemned the JJM contractor of Bansamgre Songgittal, in East Garo Hills for the poor implementation of JJM project.
“On complaint received from the villagers of the said village, we have gone to the spot to see the real condition of the JJM project implemented in the village. It is found that the main water tank which consists of three chambers of water tanks which is called TREATMENT PLAN of the JJM project is cracked down due to poor construction, executed by the contractor, which poses collusion amidst the group of JJM Authorities to vitiate the entire meaning of the beautiful central project under JJM” Said Endick Marak.
This is the treatment plant, the cornerstone and pillar of the entire project in the village from which clear water reservoir is distributed to the sub-reservoirs and to the household taps distribution. As per the report we have received from the villagers, water is miserably leaked underneath main water tank which is recently somehow repaired by the contractor after multiple complaints made by the beneficiaries.
Yet, the contractor fails to reconstruct the entire tank consequent of which tank is uncontrollably cracking down around the tank one after another which is unable to stop by putting extra mud of cement to cover the cracked water tank. This JJM project is reportedly completed recently and soon after the completion of the project, water tank is cracked down and water leaked underneath consequent of which taps are dried up for sometimes.
However, after the lots of complaints made by the villagers underneath leaked water is stopped and now somehow water is flowing in the tap added Endick Marak.
It is condemnable and it is serious it can be termed as CORRUPTION which is dishonesty and unethical conduct by the contractor who is entrusted with a position of responsibility. Several people like us are curious to know what it means in detail about corruption and its repercussions, more so because it is impacting our economic growth and prosperity.
“We cannot tolerate with such corruption and we will not bear any sympathy towards such corrupted people in Garo Hills” Warned Endick Marak.
