Ampati, May 31, 2025: Despite inclement weather and a demanding schedule, Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills, Hema Nayak, IAS, undertook a site inspection of the ongoing construction of the Block Institute of Teachers Education (BITE) under Betasing C&RD Block.

Accompanied by officials from the College of Teacher Education (CTE), Rongkhon, Tura, the Deputy Commissioner expressed concern over the slow pace of progress at the site. She underscored the critical role the institute will play in empowering local youth aspiring to pursue careers in teaching and emphasized the need for timely completion of the project.

During the visit, the DC directed that the matter of delayed construction be escalated to higher authorities for immediate attention. She also recommended the appointment of a dedicated monitor from the concerned Department to oversee the project and ensure that work proceeds without further delays.

A follow-up meeting with stakeholders will be organized soon to address the challenges and chart a clear path forward for the project’s timely completion.
