Ampati, Jan 23, 2026: The 16th National Voters’ Day was celebrated on Friday at the Ampati Multi-Facility Centre with the objective of promoting voter awareness and encouraging greater participation in the democratic process.

During the program, the Voter’s Pledge was administered by the District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner, South West Garo Hills, Smt. Anendya Raajsshre, IAS, emphasizing the importance of ethical and informed voting.

As part of the celebration, 
first-time voters of the district (male and female) were felicitated and issued their Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPICs).

Outstanding Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of the district were also felicitated with certificates in recognition of their dedicated service.

Officials of the District Administration, including ADC (Election), Dr. WC.R. Marak, ADC & PD, DRDA, Shri RZ D. Shira, Dy. Commandant, 6th MLP Bn. Umran, Shivangi Goel, IPS, who is attached to South west Garo Hills DEF, BDO Betasing & AC (Election), Smt. CR.N. Sangma, AC & BDO Zikzak Smt. T.K. Marak, district officials, Election staff, teachers and students were among others who were present during the celebration.
