Tura, April 9, 2025: The General Secretary of BJP West Garo HIlls, District Committee, Peterjob A.Sangma has lodged complaint to the Commissioner, Department of Commerce & Industries, Shillong regarding the Cancellation of Beneficiaries under PM Vishwakarma Scheme.

Sangma expressed the recent actions taken by the DM Zone in relation to the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. It has come to attention that the several beneficiaries, including himself, had their applications cancelled solely due to the Non-Linking of their Aadhaar Cards and Ration Cards.

He also highlighted that the Official Website of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme explicitly states that linking the Ration Card is optional. This contradictory action by the DM Zone not only undermines the guidelines provided, but also adversely affects numerous individuals who are relying on this scheme for support.

The cancellation without proper justification has led to confusion and distress among beneficiaries, particularly those who may not have the resources or understanding to navigate such bureaucratic hurdles.

“I urged you to review this matter and provide clarity on the actual requirements for benefitting from the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, ensuring that the beneficiaries are treated fairly and in accordance with the stated policies” said Sangma.

This is important issue that have to swift resolution to this matter, he added.
