West Garo Hills Police arrested 4 person bike lifters

Tura, Jan 31,2025:In a significant operation, West Garo Hills, Police successfully recovered 17 (Seventeen) number of stolen two wheelers and apprehended four individuals involved in crime, including the main kingpin.

In a police sources as the part of weeklong drive against bike lifters, the operation led by CI Tura (Sadar), B.N.Marak, West Garo Hills and Officer In-Charge, Tura Police Station was carried out in the West Garo Hills District in close coordination with the counterparts in Assam. The prime accused, Jamesmond K. Marak @ Simon (32) son of Watson Marak resident of Balsrigittim, Raja Apal under Bajengdoba Police Station, North Garo Hills, along with 3 other criminals namely, Tengwal R Marak (28) son of Rodrikson Momin resident of Jamge (A), Songsak, East Garo Hills, Jangkal B Marak (31) son of Keplin Momin resident of Rongchek Apal, Songsak, East Garo and Judistil T Sangma (33) son of (Lt) Ramjeng Marak resident of of Dosikgittim, Mangsang under, Rongjeng Police Station, East Garo Hills, were arrested, who was a history of similar offenses and were previously have been arrested in several bike theft cases, said police.

However, after securing bail, they have resumed their illegal activities. In a police investigations revealed that the stolen of bikes were transported and sold through a well-organized network.

West Garo Hills Police, is actively working to dismantle this network and recover more stolen vehicles from various parts of the district and other State, added police.

West Garo Hills, police informed that, a case has been registered in this connection, under relevant Sections of BNS 2023 and further investigation is underway.

West Garo Hills, Police urges the general public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to vehicle of two wheelers theft to their nearest Police Station and contact Police Control Room, Tura on mobile number, 8837423053 and 9089199064.

Further, West Garo Hills Police, urged all two wheeler owners to park in their motor cycle, scooty in a secured place and install vehicle tracker, GPS system or secure two wheelers with steering lock or wheel lock as well.
