Resubelpara, June 10, 2025: Taking stock of the on-going centrally sponsored schemes in North Garo Hills district, Member of Parliament 2-Tura, Saleng A Sangma and Chairman District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) met the heads of key line departments at the DC, Conference Hall, Resubelpara on Monday.

MP Saleng Sangma during the meeting underscored the effective implementation of centrally sponsored schemes at the grass root level and asserted that the schemes should be implemented in a such a way that the people receive the services.

He pressed upon the officials to stick by the rules while dealing with the completion status reports of schemes.
” Status report of schemes successfully implemented should not only reflect on paper but the people at the ground should actually reap the benefits”, added MP Saleng Sangma.

After a threadbare discussion of the on-going schemes presented by line departments, MP Saleng Sangma urged officials to provide better service delivery to the people by ensuring schemes are implemented effectively.

DISHA members who accompanied the MP during the meeting raised certain issues and queries pertaining to schemes being implemented in local areas. Later, the DISHA members inspected various sites to understand the ground work of the schemes.

North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Dr Abhishek Saini while highlighting the objective of the meeting informed the gathering that the District Administration ensures that every schemes is being implemented in both letter and spirit and therefore implementation departments were being instructed to monitor and regularly submit status reports of respective schemes.

Key departments whose schemes were reviewed today were PMGSY, PWD, MGNREGS, Social Welfare, Development Branch (DC office), PHE, Water Resources, AH& Vety, Health, Soil & Water Conservation and Education department.
