Three-Day Teacher Training on Mastering Classroom Management Concludes in Ampati,

Ampati, March 26, 2025: A three-day teacher training program on Mastering Classroom Management under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan successfully concluded on Wednesday in Ampati, South West Garo Hills. The training was actively supported by Tapos Ch. Marak, SEO and In-Charge, DSEO of Ampati, who attended all three days, engaging in discussions and activities alongside the participating teachers.

Organized by Bhoomi Educational Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., at Multi Facility Centre, Ampati, as part of the larger Samagra Shiksha, Meghalaya in-service teacher training initiative, the program aimed to equip teachers with practical strategies for fostering positive, inclusive, and well-managed classrooms. By strengthening classroom management skills, the initiative seeks to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

The training followed a cascade model, where State Resource Group (SRG) members were first trained as Master Trainers, who then conducted district-level sessions. This approach ensures sustainable skill development among educators at all levels.

To facilitate ease of participation, the program was conducted locally, allowing 88 teachers from nearby schools to attend comfortably. The sessions were aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing experiential learning, holistic development, and inclusive education.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by Bhoomi representatives Chingkame G. Momin and Monisha Marak. Sessions were facilitated by experienced SRG members: Zeno D. Sangma, Ashok S. Sangma, Anup Kumar Bakshi, Prasun Ghosh, Ashutosh Majumdar and Smt. Ranganath Koch.

The training incorporated interactive discussions, hands-on activities, and engaging energizers to ensure a dynamic learning experience.

Key Topics Covered were, The 3 C’s of Classroom Management Conduct, Content, and Covenant; The Sandwich Theory – A structured approach for providing effective feedback; and Behavior Management Strategies– Techniques for fostering student accountability and discipline.

A reflection and feedback session at the end of the program allowed teachers to share insights and experiences. Many expressed appreciation for the structured, practical nature of the training and voiced a strong demand for more such programs in the future.

The training marked a significant step toward enhancing classroom practices across the district, equipping teachers with the necessary tools to create structured and engaging learning environments. By empowering educators, this initiative strengthens the foundation for quality education in Meghalaya.
