Teachers honoured as part of 63rd Teacher’s Day celebration in Resubelpara

Resubelpara, September 5, 2024: Teachers of North Garo Hills district were honoured for their significant role in the field of Education on the occasion of 63rd Teacher’s Day celebration which was celebrated in Resubelpara at Multipurpose Hall, Mendipathar on Thursday.

Acknowledging the contribution of teachers and their dedication in shaping minds of the students, the office of DSEO, North Garo Hills awarded the District Teachers Awards to Manoranjan Biswas, Ringrang Sangma, Glizer Marak, Scout Master Denam Marak and Guide Captain Dimche Marak who received the award from Deputy Speaker & local MLA Timothy D Shira who was the chief guest of the programme.

Timothy D Shira in his speech highlighted the leadership qualities of the former president of India, Dr S Radhakrishnan whose birthday was chosen as the day to honour the teachers community. He lauded the teachers for their noble service of guiding the young minds and further pressed upon them to be innovative in their teaching methods.
While urging students to do away with low self esteem he encouraged them to dare to dream big and work hard towards achieving success.

ADC, Kapil Koch while addressing the gathering as the guest of honour said “teachers not only teach but they have responsibility towards the society, nation and the future”. He emphasised the role of the teachers to inspire the students to become responsible citizens.

Marking the day, cultural items and an impressive skit on empowering educators and harmful effects of mobile were portrayed by the students of various schools.
