Baghmara, Feb 27,2025: Social Activist of South Garo Hills, Greneth M.Sangma written complaint to the Circle Inspector (CI) Dalu Police Station, West Garo Hills, to pressing the matter regarding the disappearance of Smt. Nokmera N. Sangma (23) resident of Dingkajora, under the Dalu Police Station, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya.
An FIR was lodged today at the Women Police Station, in Dalu, but unfortunately, the Women Police OC refused to take action, this incident, informed Greneth Sangma.
This is not the first time, “I have faced refusal from the Women Police Station to register a missing report. I had lodged a missing report last few days, but she was also refused” said Sangma.
As a Social Activist, Sangma deeply concerned about the well-being and safety of the missing person and her family. he requested CI to direct the Women Police OC to take immediate action and investigate the case, urged Sangma.
Furthermore, “I request that you, to report abouth the Women Police OC’s attitude to the Superintendent of Police (SP) for leaving the victim’s family helpless” added Social Activist.
It should take note that refusing to register an FIR is a violation of Section 173 of the BNSS, 2023. “I urge you to take immediate action in this matter and ensure that justice is served” said Greneth Sangma.
