PRIME Meghalaya and HP India Ink Strategic MoU to Empower Meghalaya’s Startups, FPOs, and SHGs

Shillong, June 27th, 2025: In a major boost to Meghalaya’s grassroots entrepreneurship ecosystem, PRIME (Promotion and Incubation of Market-driven Enterprises) Meghalaya has entered into a strategic partnership with HP India Sales Private Limited to empower startups, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in the state by giving them access to cutting-edge packaging strategies, sustainable branding solutions, and industry insights to enable their products compete confidently on national and global shelves.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at HP’s Fulfilment Partner Facility in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, by Smt. Saloni Verma, IAS, Executive Director, Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA), and Shri A. Appadurai, Country Business Manager, HP Industrial Print Division, India.

This collaboration is a significant milestone for Meghalaya’s innovation journey. Through the MoU, HP will bring in its global expertise and technologies to support local enterprises in packaging design, branding, and sustainability.

Key support from HP India will include:
Connecting Meghalaya-based enterprises with HP’s Indigo print partners for personalized consultation and packaging solutions.
Offering guidance on market trends, branding strategies, and best practices in the packaging and print space.

Promoting sustainable packaging practices by advising on eco-friendly materials, waste reduction, and green technologies.
Helping local brands enhance product appeal and storytelling through design, messaging, and packaging innovation.

This partnership represents Meghalaya’s determination to create a future-ready entrepreneurial ecosystem. By giving startups access to cutting-edge technologies and national networks, the Government is ensuring that Meghalaya’s products compete and thrive in national and global markets.

The MoU was inked during a Print Collaboration Showcase at the Hora Art Centre, which featured expert sessions from the PRIME team and HP. The partnership further reinforces PRIME Meghalaya’s commitment to fostering a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem by leveraging partnerships to unlock new growth opportunities.

A Government of Meghalaya initiative implemented by the Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA), PRIME (Promotion and Incubation of Market-driven Enterprises) is dedicated to nurturing innovation, supporting startups, and enabling sustainable livelihoods through entrepreneurship across the state. Over 6700 beneficiaries have been benefitted from different initiatives under PRIME Meghalaya, across different sectors.
