Tura, March 24,2025: The Non Gazetted Employees Association (NGEA) of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), submitted an Ultimatum to Secretary of the GHADC to address long-standing issue of Non Payment of Salaries to the employees of the GHADC.

Despite, NGEA appeals and efforts to resolve this matter, “We have yet to receive a satisfactory response from the Executive Committee (EC)”, said President of NGEA.

The Non Payment of Salaries for 39 months has places, unmense financial strain to the members and families of the employees of the GHADC. Therefore, the NGEA submitted an ultimatum to the Authority of the GHADC, for 7 days with immediate effect from 25 March, 2025.

“Within this timeframe, we accept a prompt and concrete response from the Executive Committee (EC), regarding the resolution of the salary. However, it fail to receive any responses within the stipulated time, that we will have no choice, but we have to escalate our protest measures” said Brithen M.Sangma President of NGEA.

“However, if we do not received any responses within 7 days, we will proceed with office picketing indefinitely with effect from April 2nd 2025, until our demands are not met” he added.

In this regard, “We urged Secretary to the Executive Committee of the GHADC to take immediate action to address this issue and ensure that the rightful dues of the GHADC employees promptly disbursed,” said Sangma.
