MSSDS distribute the work order of CM Skills Mission

Shillong, July 5, 2025: The Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) successfully concluded its comprehensive four-day Local Training Providers (LTP) state level workshop, on Friday, at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Mawdiangdiang, New Shillong. The workshop empowered 119 empanelled LTPs, representing 86 training institutes, with advanced tools to strengthen Meghalaya’s skill ecosystem, targeting the skilling of over 23,000 candidates across key sectors.

The valedictory programme was graced by Shri. Challienkhum Songate, IRS, Principal Secretary, Department of Labour, Employment & Skill Development, and Shri Jagdish Chelani, IAS, Executive Director, MSSDS, alongside MSSDS team members and training providers.
Addressing the assemblage of at the valedictorian programme, Shri. Challienkhum Songate, IRS, Principal Secretary, lauded the LTPs as “change makers of society,” emphasizing their role in aligning training programs with Meghalaya’s economic priorities for FY 2025–26. As frontline agents of change, these LTPs will spearhead the alignment of training programs with state economic priorities while amplifying learner impact across critical sectors.

Moreover, Certificates of empanelment and MOUs were awarded to 17 training providers, while 65 LTPs received work orders under the restructured mission.
With the aim to strengthen the capacity of training providers, to identify and address skill gaps at the block and village levels, and to initiate targeted support mechanisms for youth, MSSDS released the work order of the revamped and repurposed CM Skills Mission for the current financial year.

Notably, the CM Skills Mission is a strategic initiative focused on outcome-driven skilling, enhanced utility, and stronger branding for wider impact. Its objectives include, Elevating training quality to enable national-level competitiveness.

Expanding the scope and structure of skill development. Fostering institutional integration for sustainable outcomes.

Panel discussions and sectoral meetings, for local livelihoods and global opportunities focused on critical sectors like Agriculture & Food Processing, Tourism & Hospitality, Apparel & Textiles, and Construction, were conducted, which featured with open ended questions and answers session, delivered strategic outcomes focused on systemic improvement, including enhanced institutional clarity, deeper integration of financial and market-led solutions, and actionable frameworks for program branding and product development.
