Dadenggre, Jan 18, 2024: The Garo Students’ Union (GSU), Western Zone (North), Dadenggre, under West Garo Hills, expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma Government of Meghalaya for addressing the Long Standing demand for the upgradation of Dadenggre Civil Sub Division into a full Fledged District.
“We appreciate the Chief Minister’s recent statement acknowledging this genuine demand and his willingness to study the matter thoroughly. The people of Dadenggre have been pursuing this cause since, 1999 and it is encouraging to hear these reassuring words from the State’s Leadership. While it may take time, the recognition of this demand as legitimate and just a significant step forward” said Tengsan M.Marak President of GSU Western Zone, (North) Dadenggre.
The upgradation of Dadenggre Civil Sub Division into District is not only a matter of Administrative convenience, but a crucial factor in ensuring the equitable development of the region. It will address challenges related to governance, infrastructure, public service delivery and Socio Economic advancement, ultimately improving the quality of life for the people of Dadenggre area.
“We, the GSU Western Zone (North), remain steadfast in supporting this demand and optimistic about the government’s commitment to resolving this matter” added Marak.
