Executive Training Program kick-started in Tura

Tura, April 1, 2025: In an effort to provide skill development and facilitate sustainable livelihood opportunities to the people of the region, 15days Executive Training programme on Electrical Applications and Electronic Application was inaugurated at Industrial Training Institute, Tura on 1st April, 2025. The training program is being organized under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme implemented by the District Commerce and Industries Centre (DCIC), Tura.

It may be mentioned that the MSME Scheme (Micro Small and Medium Enterprise Scheme) is a collection of initiatives by the Indian Government to support the growth of small business which are considered the backbone of the Indian Economy. These schemes aim to provide financial assistance, skill development, market access and technology support to MSME.

Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, Deputy Inspector of Electricity, Tura Milton R Marak informed that electricity is an important part of our everyday life and life is not comfortable without electricity since all things run on electricity these days which contributes to the growth of personal life, business, growth of industries, etc. further, mentioning on the training course being provided by the DCIC, Tura for upscaling their knowledge on electricity, he reminded that electricity is not only about learning the skills of circuit diagram, fitting things and so on, but the greater role is in learning the safety protocols and precautionary measures of these appliances. He also encouraged everyone to avail this opportunity provided by the government and equipped with skills which would benefit themselves as well as the society in future.

Stating that there is scarcity of skilled labour in the region, the Principal ITI, Tura Crening S Sangma highlighted that these short term courses aim to equip the trainees with skills by providing necessary guidelines as well as practical classes during this course. Mentioning that the Training Institute focuses mainly on the long term courses especially for electrical and electronic courses, he said that the syllabus is vast and teaching this in such a short time may be insufficient however, interaction and proper learning of the subject would be necessary to ensure the trainees to improve their skills.

Meanwhile, the Functional Manager, DCIC, Tura Biondi D Shira informed that about 25 trainees have been selected for Electrical Application and 25 for Electronic Application and added that these training are being provided free of cost for the people of the region. She further informed that basic learning, repairing techniques, etc would be taught during the training program and urged them to use it fruitfully in their future endeavors.
