CM distributes musical instruments at Rengmagre Village

Tura, June 21, 2025: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma on Saturday visited Rengmagre Village, under Selsella C&RD Block, West Garo Hills and distributed musical instruments to the local youth.

The Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma mentioned that about a month ago while on his way to Masangpani had stopped in this Village playground seeing the boys playing cricket during which the youth had requested him to support for playground development and musical items and this is the time that the Chief Minister himself is fulfilling their desires by handing over these musical instruments today afternoon. The Chief Minister also urged the youth of the area to be actively involved in productive activities like learning musical instruments, participating in sports along with their regular studies so that they can stay away from distractions like social media, drugs, alcohol, etc and move forward towards achievement in future.

Further, the Chief Minister mentioned that he had also sanctioned about Rs 8 lakhs for the development of the village playground from the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund where the goal post and other necessary development would be done.

In view of this, CM Connect Session was also held where the public were given the opportunity to interact and appraise their concerns and aspirations with regard to the development of their village. Departments such as Agriculture, PHE, Me ECL Health and others are present and added that he desires to interact with the public assuring his commitment to work on the issues raised by the people of the area.

The Main issues raised by the public during the interaction session is about the problem of water, electricity, renovation of schools, roads, etc for which the Chief Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner West Garo Hills to review with the concerned department and send a report and also to resolve the issues at the earliest possible. With regard to the issue of electricity connection, he informed that the Rural Distribution Scheme (RDSS) is being implemented by the Central Government and the households deprived of electricity connections are included under the scheme which may take some time for implementation.

Meanwhile, Arbinstone B Marak, MLA, Selsella Assembly Constituency expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma for sparing his valuable time as well as extending his support and financial assistance for the people through various initiatives and schemes implemented by different departments.

West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Vibhor Aggarwal, SDO Sadar, Tura, Block Development Officer, Selsella C & RD Block, Emmanuel M Sangma, Officers of line Departments, Nokma and people of the area were among others present on the occasion.
