Baghmara, Feb 5,2025: Greneth M.Sangma Social Activist from South Garo Hills,, on behalf of Job Card Holders, complaint to the Project Director (PD), District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Baghmara, South Garo Hills, for Non Payment of Wages to the Job holders beneficiaries at Aruakgre Village Employment Council (VEC).

The Job Card holders of Aruakgre VEC, under Siju Block, South Garo Hills immensely concerned and alarmed, and constrained to convene a job holders held a meeting on 31 January, 2025, to resolve and write an application to the Project Director for seeking appropriate and commensurate redress to pressing the issue, regarding the non payment of wages to the job card beneficiaries at Aruakgre VEC.

Despite completing the required 68 days of work in 2023-2024, the beneficiaries have not received the due wages. The delay in payment is attributed to the unfortunate demise of Lt. Brithson R. Sangma, which resulted in difficulties in linking the Aadhaar Number. “We understand that this issue, related to the Aadhaar Card, and we request to intervention and to resolve this matter” informed job card holders.

The Job Card Holders discussed the issue, and decided to lodge a complaint to bring this matter attention. “We requested to take immediate action to ensure that the pending wages are paid to the beneficiaries at the earliest” added job holders.

In this regard job card holders urged, Project Director to look into the matter immediately and take necessary steps to resolve the issue.
