Tura, Jan 7, 2025: This morning around 11:32 AM, received information that between the two uncle and nephew were conflicted at Tura Super Market opposite side of MTC bus stand.
The police team from Tura Police Station immediately rushed to the spot. On reaching the spot it is learnt that shri. Minurul Islam 24 years S/o Sofiur Rahman of Hajirhat, Sukchar South Salmara, Assam had assaulted his uncle (Late) Jaha Uddin S/o Kadim Ali resident of Singimari Assam, presently staying in a rented house at Risipara Tura.
The incident reportedly began as a verbal dispute, which escalated into a physical confrontation. During the altercation, one of the areca nut business man (nephew) attacked the other (uncle) with a knife, leaving the victim severely injured in the abdomen.
The injured person (uncle) was rushed to the Tura Civil Hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Police personnel arrived promptly at the scene, apprehended the accused (nephew) and seized the weapon involved in the incident.

It has been contact with the Tura SP, it is confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the altercation, said AT Sangma SP of West Garo Hills, Tura.
