Meghalaya Students Relocated to Shillong Test Centre After State Government’s Intervention
Shillong, Mar 26, 2025: In a commendable move that highlights the power of proactive governance, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has relocated most of the students of Meghalaya from the Guwahati examination centre to Shillong. This shift follows the timely intervention of the Meghalaya State Government, which recognized the logistical and financial challenges faced by local students.
The decision has brought much-needed relief to candidates who were previously assigned to distant centres, making it difficult for them to appear for their examinations without additional burdens. Shillong, being the capital city and a central educational hub, is a more accessible and convenient location for aspirants.
This initiative reflects the effectiveness of collaborative governance and the responsiveness of the concerned authorities. We extend our gratitude to the officials of NTA for their understanding and swift action. A special acknowledgment is due to Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, for his continuous support and consideration in addressing the concerns of Meghalaya’s students.
This decision sets a precedent for future examinations, emphasizing the need for region-specific considerations in national-level tests. The development reaffirms the commitment of both the central and state governments toward ensuring fair and accessible opportunities for Meghalaya’s students.
