Tura, Feb 23,2025: The Meghalaya Assam Passengers and Goods Carriers Association (MAPGCA) Rongram, West Garo Hills announced a structured framework of objectives aimed at enhancing the transportation sector across Meghalaya and Assam through a series of structured initiatives.
These efforts aim to promote efficiency, safety, transparency and sustainability, ensuring a well-regulated and thriving transport industry that benefits both operators and the public.
The objectives of the MAPGCA is Regulating and Monitoring Transport Operations, to ensure a well-organized transport network, the Association will enforce strict monitoring and compliance measures, reducing unauthorized operations and streamlining passenger and goods movement.
The combating Illegal Transport and Unauthorized Influx. Illegal transport services pose risks to both passengers and businesses. “We will collaborated with government agencies and law enforcement to eliminate unregulated transport activities and unauthorized entries, safeguarding the industry’s integrity”.
Prioritizing Member Welfare, Our commitment to transport operators includes training programs, financial support and improved working conditions. By uplifting our members, “we aim to foster a more professional and sustainable transport community”.
Establishing Fair and Transparent Pricing,
is top ensure affordability for passengers and profitability for operators, the Association will propicient standard pengers and promote industry stability.
Advocating for Better Infrastructure, recognizing the critical need for robust transport infrastructure, will work closely with local and state a critical need for obertes portes, modernized terminals, and improved transport facilities.
Promoting Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Transport, as part of our commitment to environmental responsibility, will encourage the use of energy-efficient vehicles and eco-friendly technologies, reducing the environmental footprint of transport operations.
Strengthening Safety and Security Standards, the safety of passengers and goods is a top priority. The Association will advocate for and enforce rigorous safety protocols, ensuring compliance with best practices to reduce accidents and enhance security.
