CM Connect initiative ensures rightfull ration under NFSA for residents of Koraibari in Ranikor

Shillong, Feb 19,2025: A swift intervention under the CM Connect initiative has ensured that residents of Koraibari village in Ranikor, Meghalaya, receive their rightful ration under the National Food Security Act (NFSA),2013. Villagers had complained to Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma about Fair Price Shop (FPS) dealer denying them PDS ration, reportedly due to factional disputes. Following the CM’s assurance of strict action during his recent visit, the Supply Department launched an inquiry, confirming that many had been deprived of their ration for up to two years. The FPS dealer’s license was immediately canceled, and further punitive action was recommended.

Chief Minister Sangma highlighted CM Connect’s impact, stating, “The initiative has empowered citizens to stand up for their rights, providing a direct grievance redressal channel.” Food and Civil Supplies Secretary Pravin Bakshi emphasized ongoing efforts to ensure transparency in PDS distribution, including ePOS device implementation and regular inspections.

Locals expressed gratitude for the swift resolution, with a village secretary saying, “We never imagined that within two days of our complaint, officials would verify the issue and cancel the dealership. We are now getting our rightful ration.” Since its launch in February 2024, CM Connect has engaged with over 50,000 citizens, addressed nearly 2,700 grievances, and achieved a 93.5% satisfaction rate, reinforcing the government’s commitment to justice and transparency.
