Tura, Mar 16, 2025:The fourth Public Meeting was organised by the A·chik State Peoples’ Front (ASPF) HQ, Tura to establishing Winter Capital in Tura, on 15 March 2025, at Rongrenggre playground, Williamnagar, in East Garo Hills, Meghalaya.

The meeting was attended by a significant number of citizens from East Garo Hills, alongside various organizations and associations, including social organizations from Williamnagar such as A·chik Progressive Approach (APA), Garo Hills Enlightenment Society (GES) and Williamnagar Auto & Pick-Up Association.

During the meeting, Adv. Bernita Marak, General Secretary of ASPF, HQ, Tura elucidated the concept of Winter Capital and highlighted its potential advantages for the community.

Roger D. Shira, President of A·chik Progressive Approach (APA), conveyed his organization’s commitment to supporting the leaders advocating for this initiative, assuring ongoing collaboration until the intended objectives are achieved.

Slang Goera Marak, President of the Garo Hills Enlightenment Society (GES), expressed appreciation for the dedication demonstrated by the ASPF and Garoland State Movement Committee (GSMC) in advancing this cause. He also announced plans for a larger mobilization meeting throughout the East Garo Hills.

The meeting concluded with the announcement that the subsequent gathering will be hosted in North Garo Hills, as stated by Balkarin Ch. Marak, Acting Chairman of GSMC CEC, HQ Tura.
